At night when you drift across the Spur which is a vast area with amazing contours.
The spur is an underwater ridge in the Gulf of Mexico, then tip most northern tip of it is 50 miles straight south / southeast , the most south east edge of it is 70 miles south east, The most southern west edge of it is 73 miles the offshore from Pensacola, Florida.
It's named for its boot spur shape and is known for its productive waters that attract large predators, usually its hot good constituent current that moves that water around pushing in bait fish, floating objects, huge patches of sarcasm grass as well as keeping that saltwater extra salty from the insane salinity per parts of layer ( which are all important things for pelagic fish.)Pelagic fishing isa major passion of mine, my wife Karri’s , many of our peers / captain friends in the area . And really all over Florida that we consider friends due to social media because without it none of us would ever knew the other existed!!! LOL !! But some guides can’t stand going out offshore period , much less staying out for 12 to 30hr’s , especially on a center console style boat, which is understandable , but! If you were To book one Of these days your would be paying 8 to 15,000$ for it! I’ve worked on those boats growing up, and those trips are an absolute blast, the creature comforts of a bed, shower, full sized man’s restroom, a small kitchen with a “galley” which is a boat living room , Air Conditioning , a 70in tv with cable , Playstation 5, it was the Intimidator in Orange Beach Alabama.
